She resolved to help the little drum find its voice once more. Day after day, she played from the first light of dawn to the fading colors of dusk. Eventually, even with her eyes closed, the rhythm quickened or slowed exactly as she wished. And when she finally let her arms rest, the echoes of the drum lived on, carrying far over the hills and through the forest.
